Ehecatl Art

"spirit guided painting"

The Ehecatl Art painting process was developed by Vision Bear as a healing modality that promotes personal balance and spiritual growth. Ehecatl is a Nahuatl word that means “Spirit, or that which moves but cannot be seen.”

Ehecatl Art is an organic, cooperative process based on balance and integration. Through the Ehecatl Art painting process, artists examine their beliefs – who they are and where they are going in life – by channeling spiritual information using shapes, dimensions, and colors. In following the Ehecatl Art process, painting is experienced as a source of insight and personal transformation.

About Vision Bear

Vision Bear is a self-taught artist, teacher, and Tepatiani (visionary healer), who has been painting for more than fifty years. He is inspired to create images that contemporize the traditional glyphs of his ancestors, the Mexicatl and Mayan, and that honor the struggles of all Native Americans. Vision Bear’s work also embraces our transcendent nature by expressing the universal spiritual language of all people, which bypasses the barriers of individual language and culture. Based on his ancestral belief that the images we create form the basis of our existence, Vision Bear believes that art has the potential to heal, illuminate and transform lives.

Meditating on the story of Tonatzin (Earth Mother – Our Lady of Guadalupe), he was inspired to develop the Ehecatl Art process – Ehecatl meaning spirit or that which moves. In following the Ehecatl Art process, painting is experienced as a source of insight and personal transformation. Born and raised in California, Vision Bear fulfills a dream quest through the Ehecatl Art process, with Spirit and his ancestral gifts to teach others how to transform their lives through art. His original art can be found in private collections across North America. He presently works and teaches the Ehecatl Art process at his studio in Marietta, Georgia.

Kim Roberts Meacham

Kim Roberts Meacham spent her childhood surrounded by books and with a deep curiosity about the world around her. She shares, “As I paint, I cultivate personal balance and learn to let life unfold.”

Kim’s paintings honor our relationships with the seen and unseen and celebrate the communities where we live, grow, and serve one another. From the ebb and flow of people, to the wisdom of ancient trees and soaring mountains, to the expanse of the ocean and star filled skies, all these things shape her perspective and inspire her art.
